This usually refers to moves that are less than 100 miles and within the same state. What is an intrastate move? This refers to a move of more than 100 miles within the same state. What should I do if one of my items is damaged during the move? Professional movers and packers do their best to ensure all your belongings arrive safely to your destination. However, damage sometimes occurs. In this case, please email or call your moving company as soon as possible with the details. How long do I have to inspect my belongings for lost or damaged items after the move? You generally have 60 days to perform this inspection and notify your moving company of any problems.
